Aarhus: International and cosy
If you live in The Iceberg, you live very close to the centre of the capital of Jutland – Aarhus – also known as the City of Smiles. Aarhus is large enough to feature all kinds of international shopping and cultural experiences but at the same time, it is small enough to provide a feeling of manageability and cosiness.
Pleasant coffee houses, gourmet restaurants and the amazing art museum ARoS are just a few steps away. Furthermore, the city offers cinemas, theatres, a large variety of restaurants, pedestrian zones, a buzzing city centre and a vibrant harbour featuring modern pleasure boats as well as old wooden ships.
A new and vibrant neighbourhood
The Iceberg will be a new, vibrant part of the city at the harbour called The Aarhus Docklands. Currently, the harbour of Aarhus is being converted into an attractive part of the Aarhus city centre. Several unique building complexes will arise in order to create a new architectural stronghold in Denmark and Europe. The new part of town will contain coffee houses, shops, restaurants and housing units with a natural and maritime touch to it surrounded by light and the ocean.
At The Docklands the new central library Urban Mediaspace opens in 2014. It is part of a larger project that also includes the opening of the last part of Aarhus River and the city's new central waterfront space.
Here you also find Navitas Park that is Aarhus’ new center for innovation and energy with The Engineering College (Ingeniørhøjskolen), INCUBA Science Park og The Engineer School (Århus Maskinmesterskole). The international Danish clothing giant Bestseller also opens their headquarters at the Aarhus Docklands.
Centrally located
You will be able to use the coming Light Rail Transit by The Docklands and the coming Marselistunnel will give a fast connection to the motorway. Today there is an average travel time between 10 and 15 minutes to the motorway. The harbour of Aarhus is also located just a few hundred yards from ferries leaving for Denmark's main island Sjælland with the capital Copenhagen, and the train and intercity bus station are also located nearby.
